If you are full of stress, whether it be on your muscles or mind, you are setting yourself up for disaster. I used to never participate in an kind of stress relieving techniques and I remember never being at ease.

Below are my five tips on letting go of stress.

1. Get outside. Go on a bike ride, hike, absolutely anything outside.

Vitamin D is needed for every human body and it helps the body function healthily. This also gives you an excuse to try out a new activity. There are tons of workout groups that take place outside in the summer and they are fairly cheap usually.

You’ll also get to make new friends and open yourself up to new surroundings. The effects of spending just 15 minutes outside in the sun is amazing on the body, just imagine adding a workout into that.

Your body will be revved up with endorphins releasing and you will go home feeling extra motivated and inspired to workout the next day.

2. Read an inspirational book.

I love reading books based on people who have gone through extremely difficult times in their life, to only come back a much stronger person.

We’ve all gone through hard times in our life, and some of us have though we could never get through certain obstacles, yet we have. I also love reading books about people who have lost weight, whether it be 20 or 200 pounds.

Reading and hearing about other peoples stories can be incredibly motivating and will also stimulate the mind to do likewise things.

3. Participate in a yoga class.

There are so many yoga classes and studios available no matter where you live. I know of about 5 yoga studios in just a couple miles of around my house.

I remember when I completed my first yoga class, I felt like a new person. I really challenged not only my body, but my mind as well. I let go of a lot of things in each class I go to. Yoga is not only a break from real life, but you also overcome obstacles and regain a new confidence that you didn’t even believe existed.

4. Talk to someone about your problems.

So many of us are bottling up pent up anger and issues that are going unsolved. We live in a day and age where people are scared to talk about their problems or feel as if they aren’t important enough to share with others.

This however, is so false.

I always make it known to all of my friends that they can come to me for absolutely anything. Imagine the world we could live in if people would openly talk about their concerns or aspects in life that are stressing them.

5. Surround yourself with positive people.

We’ve all heard of the saying, you are the average of the 5 people around you. Make sure you aren’t spending your time with people that complain all the time.

Although you want to be the kind of person in #4, you also don’t want to be talking about someone else’s problems ALL the time. There needs to be conversation on the positive things in life, which is many things!

However, let’s get you started sooner rather than later so that you can be a little less stressed out about taxes, as we know most people are!

Whether you are filing your taxes for the very first time or it’s the 10th time you’ve done them, it can still be tiring, stressful, and sometimes even scary.

Below are my four tips to help you prepare for tax time:

1.Determine whether you will file taxes yourself or use a professional. 

If you haven’t yet, you need to decide as soon as possible whether you will file your taxes yourself online or offline, or whether you will hire a professional to file your taxes for you. If you decide to do them yourself online tools can be found here at https://turbotax.intuit.com.

If your tax situation is complicated and you do not know what you are doing, I highly recommend hiring a professional as they can earn you what they charge as they are experts.

2.Gather all needed financial documents.

The next thing you need to do is that you ned to gather all of the financial documents that you need in order to file your taxes. If you are unsure, start with your taxes from last year and see what you needed then. Then, see how your tax situation may have changed this year and add those documents to your pile as well.

3. Organize your documents.

After you have gathered everything that you need, you then need to organize all of your tax documents if you haven’t already done that throughout the year. You should separate everything and make any notes that need to be made so that you do not forget what each thing is for (such as receipts).

4. Give yourself plenty of time to file your taxes.

While you still have a few weeks to file your taxes, you should start now just in case it takes you longer than you think it will. You never know, you may find an error on a financial document, or you might realize that you lost something important that you need in order to file your taxes.

Filing your taxes on the very last day is never a good idea. Start this week!

Traveling and working at the same time is the dream of many. This is something that I am attempting to do right now. I love traveling and being able to earn an income at the same time, but it can be difficult.

Please do not fall for the myth that traveling and working at the same time is a vacation. This is something that too many people think. You obviously still have to earn an income.

Traveling and Working - Is It Possible?It can be hard, but there are ways to make it work for you. If you really want to be able to travel and work, you will have to work hard in order to do so.

Here are tips to make traveling and working possible for you:

Have at least some money saved up before you leave.

To make your trip a little bit easier, it is usually wise to have some money saved up before you leave. This way you don’t have to feel like you have to do ANYTHING out there in order to make an extra dollar.

Think about how long you will be gone and where you want to travel to, and try to save money based on that. You may want to save money from your job, start some side jobs, or sell some (or even all) of your stuff.

The amount you save up is up to you. I’ve heard of people just picking up and leaving, and I’ve heard of others building up one full year of expenses so that they can travel for a long time.

Find ways to save money.

Traveling does not have to be expensive. However, the costs can definitely add up when you are traveling over an extended period of time. Since you will most likely be traveling extensively, then you will need to find ways to save money.

You should look for affordable places to stay, eat affordably, watch your transportation expenses, and more. Traveling like a local can save you a lot of money.

Find ways to make money.

If you need to make money while traveling, then there are plenty of ways to do that. Some different ways you can make money include:

Have fun.

I’m going to assume that since you are traveling, that you want to have at least a little bit of fun. Remember to have fun while you are traveling so that you can actually enjoy where you are visiting. Traveling from place to place but then spending your whole time working is not the same. Get out and enjoy yourself!

If you do decide to use cheaper materials to build your product, you should keep in mind that you may need to lower the pricing on your product. Some business owners try to save money by paying their workers poorly or taking away their benefits, but this can be a bad idea.

You may cause your workers to lose motivation to work, this can lead to high turnover, and more. You should be paying your workers what they deserve if you want them to stay and continue to provide the quality of work that you want them to.

3. You won’t hire anyone.

To run an effective and successful business, you will eventually need to hire some of the tasks out. This may mean hiring employees or hiring for areas that help you run your business behind the scenes, such as a lawyer, an accountant, and more.

You need to hire people out eventually because if your business is expected to keep on growing, then eventually it would become impossible to continue to do everything yourself.

I have seen far too many business owners try to run a business all of their own only to fail. It is not possible to run your business decades into the future all by yourself. You will run yourself ragged, if you are even able to make it that long.

Lately, we have been talking a lot about telecommuting. Telecommuting can be a godsend in a person’s life, or a person might even hate it. It really just depends on your personality and how you like to work.

There has to be at least a few negatives to telecommuting as well or else everyone would be fighting to be able to do it.

Working from home by yourself can feel lonely if you do not do it correctly. Since you’ll be home for pretty much the whole entire day every single day (unless you have a family), it can be easy to feel lonely.

Plan lunch outings with friends, call loved ones, go outside, and more. You might even try working in a public place such as a park or a coffee shop too on certain days in order to branch out.

Telecommuting may not work with secure information.

If you work in a field that deals with secure information (maybe something like financial documents), you might not be able to work from home because there is a risk that information may leak. Information leaks could be due to insecure connections, hacking, and more.

Before you bring your work home, you should make sure that all sensitive information will be kept private.

How To Stay Sane When Traveling For Business

fiji-293826_640Traveling for work may sound glamorous to some, but for most people who travel, it’s not as great as it seems.

I once knew someone who ended up quitting her job because she was afraid that she would one day “die in a hotel room,” and it was a legitimate fear of hers.

Many people may feel somewhat similar to this, maybe not as drastic, but I know many other people who would prefer to work at home instead of living in an airport and a hotel room.

It can be extremely lonely if you do a lot of business traveling, and you may miss out on some big milestones with your friends and family members.

However, maybe you enjoy what you do but there are some days where you just feel a little crazy since you are traveling for work so much. If this describes you, then below are my tips to stay sane when traveling for business.

1. Actually unpack your bags.

I am guilty of living out of my suitcase when I am traveling. However, when you are traveling for work ALL THE TIME, you should try to actually unpack your bags, put your clothes away in a dresser, hang up your clothing, and more. This can make you feel more sane as you won’t have a huge pile of clothes that you are going through and pouring back into your suitcase each and every day.

2. Leave your hotel occasionally.

One thing that many business travelers are guilty of is that they often spend way too much time either at the hotel or wherever they are working. Instead, you should try to squeeze time in to explore wherever you are. Never leaving the hotel can constantly feel like you are just always working, and sometimes you just need a physical break in order to clear your mind.

3. Bring something with you that is not related to your job.

Bringing something with you can make you feel like you are more at home. Bring your favorite book, a hobby project that you have been working on, or something else.

4. Make friends.

Hopefully, there are others who are traveling for business with you or there are people that you see on a usual basis when you travel for work. If so, make some new friends and plan outings with them. Maybe go to a delicious restaurant that is not in the hotel, explore the town together, or something else.

5. Skype loved ones back home.

So that you don’t feel like you are missing out on everything back at home, you might want to try to Skype or video chat (such as through Google Hangouts) those that you want to talk to. Google Hangouts is free (as long as you have wifi), so it is something I would definitely check out.

Eventually, if the above do not work out for you, you may need to evaluate your job and see if it is worth it. If you are not happy and you feel like you are going crazy, then some active changes need to be made.

These is all very important things to think about, and skipping this step and significantly damage the livelihood of your business.

2. Make sure everything runs smoothly.

Launch day can be a very stressful day. Running everything at one time and for the very first time can mean that things may not run as smoothly. However, you should try your best to make sure everything does go smoothly.

One idea to make sure everything goes smoothly is to have a practice day. This is where you might try your business out for yourself, or have friends and/or family members try it as well.

Restaurants do this all the time, as do stores. You can apply the method of a practice day to many different types of businesses.

A practice day is a great idea because you can fix any problems that occur before the actual launch day. Usually problems DO happen, so it is best to be aware of them before the “real” launch day.

3. Market your business correctly.

With a new business, most people will not have ever heard of it. This is why marketing a new business is so important. Customers can’t buy your product or service if they have no idea that it exists.

You will most likely want to market your business in many ways. You will want organic marketing, such as through referrals and your reputation. And then you might decide to pay for marketing as well, such as through a Groupon, a television commercial, a radio advertisement, website and/or blog advertising, and more.

4. Have something that sets you apart from the competition.

If you are a new business and there are already other companies in your space, then you will need to find a way to lure existing customers to your business. This means that you need to provide something that makes them want to leave the current companies that they use and switch to yours.

You might compete with others in your niche by offering a lower price or providing a higher quality product or service. Whatever you decide to go with, make sure you do your research.

Why Saving For Retirement Is Important Even If You Love Your JobRecently, I read about someone who stated that they didn’t care about retirement and didn’t care about saving for retirement because they loved their job oh so much. That made me laugh and also scared because even though they claimed they loved it, they only worked one day per week (this person makes hundreds of thousands of dollars a year with just that one day per week).

So, if this person loved it so much, they could definitely have just started working TWO days a week and would be able to save twice as much money. Also, the fact that this person only worked one day a week, really made me think that they do not in fact love their job as much as they think they do.

Anyway, even if you did love your job an insane amount, saving for retirement is still important. Planning and saving for retirement does not have to be hard, you can even find global wealth management advice online. There are many reasons for why you should still save, which I will be discussing below:

You might come across a medical issue.

Even though no one likes to think that they are unhealthy, something may happen to you in the future that could never be possibly planned. This might prevent you from working, and if it does then having retirement funds saved up is a wise idea.

You might find that you don’t love your job in the future.

No matter how much you love your job now, it is hard to say what you will think about it down the line. You could actually hate it later.

You might want to change course and focus on something else.

You might still enjoy your job later on, but doing something for decades can eventually get boring. You may decide to focus more time on family, travel the world, volunteer, and so on.

You can’t predict the future.

In the end, you just cannot realistically predict the future. You never know how you may feel about things 3o, 40, 50 years down the line, so it is best to save for retirement, especially if you have the means to do so.

You may have to work for free.

If you are just starting your business, then there will probably be times where you have to work for free. Referrals are very important, and a free job may lead to many future paying jobs.

If you don’t want to work for completely free, then you may want to try working for cheap in the beginning. You could offer a discount on your product or service and hopefully gain some long-term customers who will keep coming back over and over again, and hopefully they will refer your product or service to their family and friends.

How To Stay Healthy When Working From Home

I’ve been working entirely at home for a little bit now. One of my main worries is that my health would go completely down the drain because I would have 24/7 access to my refrigerator.

I will be honest. My fears actually came true. The first few months of self-employment went exactly how it would in my nightmares. Even though I was home all the time and had a great flexible schedule, I never worked out and I never ate healthy.

I would procrastinate doing any work by taking a look into my fridge and seeing what there was to snack on. And, I did that a lot. Also, I went out to eat all the time even though I had more time to make myself all the meals that I could.

How To Stay Healthy When Working From HomeSo, to summarize – I was eating unhealthy, snacking all day, and I never worked out. It was not a good combination at all!

Life has really changed though, and I feel like a completely new person. Here are my tips to stay healthy when working from home.

Have a schedule.

You should have a set time in your schedule each day for when you will work out, when it is time to eat and so on. Some like to work out in the mornings and some at night.

However, I like to work out right in the middle of my day. It creates a nice little break where I can can energized all over again.

Stop buying snack food.

One thing I stopped doing was buying so much unhealthy snack foods. I am guilty of stuffing my pantry with junk food, and I really need to stop doing that. Now, whenever I want a snack, I reach for a fruit or vegetable to eat instead. Healthy, and it still fills my need to snack.

Have an actual office.

Make sure you have an office in your home. If you don’t, then you may find yourself working in odd places, such as your couch or kitchen table. You may feel more inclined to snack of junk food just because it’s right next to you.

Get a treadmill desk.

I saw that someone on Instagram I follow had one of these, and I thought it was the most brilliant invention ever. This way you can just work out while you work, and you can feel better about yourself all around!
